Transforming The Spare Room

The spare room looks less like a study and more like a bedroom now. We're leaving the desk in place (actually its a dining room table) so Ailz can still do her filing in there. I swapped a photograph of my paternal grandfather sitting at his office desk for a watercolour of my maternal grandmother's wisteria-clad cottage.

I assembled the bed yesterday and the headboard slipped through my hands and landed on my toes like a blunt-edged guillotine blade. Ailz said I could swear if I liked because my mother was out of earshot and I said the worst was over so I didn't see the point.

I lay down on the mattress to test it for comfort and saw a patch of damp I hadn't spotted before creeping in from under the eaves.

I have a patch of damp that needs bleaching on the ceiling of our spare bedroom. That stops any mould from appearing.
I hope you didn't break a toe!

Bleach, eh? I'll give that a go.

I was lucky. I don't even have a bruise.

Yep...bleach kills mould spores that might be lurking because of the damp.

Glad to hear your toe is okay (!!!) -- it's so easy to break them. (sigh) And hope the pain is over, too...

Sounds like the room is coming together quite nicely! Sorry about the damp spot!

(We're so tired of dealing with 'flooding' of any kind -- even the smallest spot of dampness makes us nuts. Thankfully things have been quiet in that area recently. But we're nervous almost every time it rains.)

Thanks. My toes recovered remarkably quickly.

It rains and it rains and it rains. I've never known anything like it.
