The Right Decision, But...
Oct. 25th, 2013 07:59 pmMy parents loved being racehorse owners and breeders- and in the early days they had success as well as fun. Then my father died and the Company lost its business brain. Now its just a machine for losing money. The AGM met today (I'm not on the board- my father wouldn't have me because I'm a feckless hippie) and the decision was taken to sell or give away the foal that is one of the three remaining assets/expenses. It's the right decision- and what I wanted- but I'm not jumping up and down for joy- because I can't forget that what we're dismantling here- this sad, embarrassing, unloved thing- was once my parents' darling.
