Did you look at the remains of the cloister garth at Rochester cathedral? Similar dogtooth decoration plus some gorgeous blind arcading.

Thank you! What a beautiful example of a classic Romanesque arch. This church is a treasure...not many around like it, I think, at least not where you live.

Churches were always getting improved. Patrons would rebuild them in the latest style, enlarge then, add bits on, repair them after damage. As a result there are very few left in anything like a pure Romanesque style. Those that do survive are in really out of the way places- like Barfrestone and Kilpeck.
