Fish

I cooked fish for lunch yesterday. I'm happy to eat fish but I hate the way the smell of the cooking lingers so I don't do it very often. The kitchen has sliding glass doors and I had them open all the time, but there was still a strong smell of salmon hanging around the stairwell when I went up to bed in the evening.

We use vinegar - a small bowl of vinegar in smelly rooms, and vinegar in a spray bottle for intense odors. Works with puppies - might work with fish also.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it.

We bake ours, in a covered dish, and are scrupulous about washing the dishes and getting the fish wrappers out of the house.

But bluefish lingers, no matter how hard we try. I'll try [livejournal.com profile] artkouros's vinegar trick next time we do it.

Baking in a covered dish sounds like a good idea.
