Scotch Broth

Ailz is going to church with her mother. The church operates a food bank.

"Did you remember to put some soup tins in a bag," she asks. (We have all these tins we bought for Eric. He had a particular liking for Scotch broth)

"No," I say. "But I remember now."

Really, my short term memory is shocking. Shocking.

Mine too. I like to tell myself it's because I have an extraordinary amount of knowledge already there and it's hard to squeeze the new stuff in.

I must remember that line. :)

And that is the way of it for so many of us.

Short term memories- who needs them anyway?

Roy is the same way and I'd worry about it except that he isn't that way about anything except things I say. I conclude that he knows he can always ask me again.

Ailz says married couples get so used to hearing one another's voices they stop noticing what's being said.

Now I want to try Scotch Broth.

It's not very nice. At least, the tinned stuff isn't.
