Obviously there can't be anything real in Loch Ness. If there were we'd have proved its existence by now. A colony of large animals couldn't possibly be eluding us in such a small body of water - not with all the efforts we've put into finding them. But then again, what on earth is this?

I haven't completely given up on Nessie... or Bigfoot, for that matter. The reason is, when I was born, they still thought that Giant Squids were a myth, and it really wasn't that long ago they thought the same thing about gorillas.

However, if there are any Nessie's left, there may only be one or two. Perhaps they are very long lived like turtles, but probably, if they are there, they probably won't be there much longer.

Thanks for posting the picture. There was a photo on Yahoo! last night, but there was nothing in it but water.

But it's so fun to believe that there IS a monster... and Bigfoot, and all such things.

I agree. It would be lovely if one of them turned out to be for real.

I haven't given up on any of them- though I think there's a chance they'll turn out to be paranormal phenomena rather than flesh and blood beasties.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamed of in [our] philosophy.

I am sure something is out there---beastie or paranormal critter!

The world would be a poorer place without its sea serpents, lake monsters, thunderbirds, yetis et al.

Well, clearly it came off of a passing frost giant.
