We're Never So Busy As When We're On Holiday

We drove 600 miles in all.

We saw pig farms,  forestry commission plantations and verges full of wildflowers (mostly daisies and poppies).

The first night I came down with food poisoning and found it was comforting to lie on the bathroom floor.

We visited one cathedral, about twelve medieval churches (mostly made of flint)  and the 20th century shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham.

We went shopping in Hovington. I bought T shirts and a couple of mugs.

We had two memorable meals- one at the Marsh Harrier on the outskirts of Norwich, the other on the pier at Cromer.

We ate ice cream among the pensioners at Wells-Next-The-Sea.

We drove home through the flat lands around The Wash.

Oh dear. Lying on the bathroom floor can be very comforting, in such trying times. I've very fond of ceramic tile, myself.

If the Marsh Harrier's food was as good as the menu suggests, I'd say it was memorable. Looks delicious.

I had smoked haddock paella followed by Summer Pudding: both were delicious.

Sounds delicious!

Food poisoning aside, the rest sounds lovely. I like the idea of the 12 medieval churches made of flint. Did you get photos?

There are a lot of photos. It'll take me a while to sort through them....

I like your declarative trip report.

The food poisoning is very well-stated, but I'm sorry.

Thanks.

It was a very brief bout of food poisoning, and it didn't spoil the rest of the trip.
