OK, so where's the torrential rain we've been threatened with? Where's that system- like a gauzy ammonite, like a spiral galaxy of bad intent- they told us was spinning across the Atlantic towards us? Where's it up to? When will it hit? This drizzle doesn't do it for me. I want stair rods. I want thunder and lightening, hail and pace, I want it to fall with the force of a fire hose.

And mainly I want it to do it now and get it over with, presto, within the next 24 hours, because we'll be driving down to Norfolk tomorrow.

Where is it? Probably only in the imagination of tabloid press. I hope.
I don't believe everything I read in the papers.

Yeah, but I saw it on the Tee-Vee. They had a satellite picture...

The Met Office has a "yellow alert" today for Wales, N. Ireland and the Lake District, but then no severe weather over the next 4 days. Maybe it has wandered back into the Atlantic.

That sounds acceptable- from my POV I mean.

Well here it rained and it rained and it rained. On Friday Brith (the dog I walk) and I got soaked, even though we tried to shelter under a tree during the part where the drops were so large and numerous that they almost ran together into a continuous sheet. Today it just carried on raining until about 3.30pm, at which point the sky brightened slightly and the rain stopped. Perhaps it just passed a little further south than the forecast said?

It's been raining here all day, with intervals, but it's mostly been quite light rain.

PS. The yellow warning was for "Wales except Anglesey", but we got it anyway - it might be that it's only this end of the island, near the Straits

I too prefer a good solid get-it-over-with downpour to an endless drizzle.
I wish you sunshine for your drive.
