Dealing With Bereavement

Ailz spends most mornings at her mother's. They watch Homes Under the Hammer together. Dot wants a picture of Eric to hang on the wall so she'll have something to focus on when she finds herself talking to him. She's been sorting through albums and boxes but there's not much to choose from- just holiday snaps and the like, hardly anything you could call a portrait.

They were together over 60 years. She was just 15 when they first met.

Manolo and I have been together close to 40 years. I can't imagine life without him and to think of that kind of loss is impossible to fathom. I hope Ailz and her mum find a suitable photo. I remember it helped my mother in law to cope when she had an enlargement made of a picture of Manolo's dad after he passed away.
60 years is more than many people's lifetimes.

It comes to mind that Picasso's widow Jacqueline had a picture of him above the staircase in their house and used to greet him as "Don Pablo" as she went up and down.
