Keeping Busy

We're in the middle of a heat wave.

Yesterday I changed a toilet seat.

Bought Dot some cat food (she feeds several ferals and a magpie).

Spoke to Odi- she's coming to the funeral with the kids in tow (help!)

Walked through the park and took photos- a couple of which went onto Wikipedia Commons.

Sat in the shade and read ghost stories (Eliott O'Donnell- what a snob, what a liar, what a master of the macabre!)

Clipped the hedge between our yard and Sam's.

The kids might not be so bad. Distraction could be welcome.

O'Donnell was a snob? Wiki suggests that he was a somewhat desperate social climber. I suspect that's the reason.

I've thought of that, but do I have the energy to cope with them?

O'Donnell is always going on about the virtues of people of the better sort and how dreadful the middle classes are. Most of his haunted houses are stately homes.

"If anyone spots the Queen of Scots in a hand-embroidered shroud, we're proud of the stately homes of England!"

Hooray for Noel Coward.

That's a lovely line. Will you write more about him?

Thanks. I might. I'm not sure I've got hold of him yet.
