poliphiloDavid Hare has written a play reflecting life at his and my old school- and the Old Boys magazine has asked Chr*st*ph*r C*mpl*ng- who was chaplain in our day- to review it. Hare's memories are unkindly- and the review tails off into pitiable self defence. Apparently L*nc*ng as C*mpl*ng knew it was "famous for its liberal attitudes". If it was, it had precious little to do with him. Poor old chap; doesn't he know that artists always have the last word?
