A New Game

Why stop at Liverpool? I can go anywhere in the world they have roads!

This morning I did a tour of Tewkesbury and this afternoon I went for a spin through Provence, starting in Capentras, wandering through Monteux (very narrow streets they have there) and ending up gawping at Le Palais des Papes in Avignon. I have a list of places I mean to go- and it keeps getting longer. Right now, I'm off to Chamonix....

I am loving how excited you are about Google maps.

Google maps are amazing. It never dawned on me before how you can use them to travel...

I love google-walking down the road where my grandparents lived - the house is still there!

I've just visited my childhood home. It's virtually unchanged

Mine has chnaged for the better - it's been "done up" and restored to its Victorian architect's intentions - it was almost gfalling down in some places in my childhood

That's what I like most about Google maps - the pictures of the houses where I used to live and the live pictures of all those "faraway places with strange sounding names." It gives me the chance to see the world, even though I have never been able to travel far.

I was "driving" down a road in the Alps, yesterday- and it was very like doing it for real, in real time.

It's a very cheap alternative to actually travelling, isn't it?

Oh, and it means we can do our field surveys without even leaving the office;-)
