Google Maps

I went for a drive round Liverpool yesterday on Google Maps. I found the church Odi is attending (or at least I think I did) and then I wandered off and tried to get to the waterfront.

One of these days there'll be a descendant of Google Maps which will be 3D and fully animated. Not only will you be able to go into the buildings and explore them from top to bottom  but you'll be able to interact and have conversations with all the people you meet...

I did that on the King's Way in Edinburgh recently. It was for research purposes, because its been too long since I was there for me to accurately describe the ascent, but I will admit that being able to do it at all was pretty damned amazing.

I've just spent several hours "motoring" round Provence- ending up in front of the Palace of the Popes in Avignon.

Or, for a truly immersive experience, you could go to Liverpool...

When a man is tired of Liverpool, he is tired of life- as Dr Johnson almost said.

I love it too. I looked at all the places I lived in the past, plus al the places my ancestors came from. It's really cool. I look forward to it going interactive.

I've just dropped in on my childhood home. It has hardly changed at all.
