Margaret Cockayne

Ashbourne is a small market town in Derbyshire. Its parish church- St Oswald's- is very grand- and contains a chapel crammed with splendid family tombs- many with effigies. This lady is Margaret Cockayne, who died around the middle of the 15th c.

That's a nice one. It makes for an interesting composition, too.

Lovely - but it immediately makes me think "Migraine"!

She reminds me a little of Alice's Duchess.

She looks a little surprised at finding herself dead.
Lovely, though.

Her headdress is magnificent. I wonder if there was ever a gem in that stone necklace.
