I spent the afternoon watching the Parliamentary sub-committees interview the Murdochs and Rebekah Brooks and the two policemen who resigned. It's remarkable how little these powerful and highly paid people know about the enterprises everyone thought they were running. Stephenson blamed Yates who blamed his work-load.  Rupert was clearly too deaf and doddery to understand half of what was going on in the committe room- and James (touchingly) did his best to protect him. Rebekah had been  too busy shielding little children from paedophiles to notice what was happening in her news room. All of them have been betrayed by people they trusted.

Great picture. Do I sense that your tongue is firmly in cheek when making these comments? ;-)

If only there was some sort of institution in the world whose job it was to discover and disseminate facts and truth! If there was someone out there who might employ people to track down stories of things that are happening that might be of interest to the public at large, such an organization might have been able to discover what was happening.

If such an institution existed we might want to call it The News of the World.

I have literally no idea what is going on with all this. Rupert Murdoch is nearly dead and his empire of evil is as evil as everybody always suspected? Is that it?

Something like that.

But the scandal also embraces the Metropolitan police and British politicians of all parties.

We knew about the boil. Now it has been lanced.

I'm watching the proceedings in Parliament- live. It's stormy in there.

They definitely deserve their high salaries, though. Someone less talented would probably have known what was going on, and therefore been GUILTY. The foolishness of gods is wiser than the wisdom of men.

Weren't The X Files produced by part of the Murdoch empire?

And you know what they say: trust no-one.
