Cold Turkey

poliphiloI slept badly because I was going cold turkey. I feel better this morning- except that my back aches from leaning over the jigsaw puzzle I was working at most of yesterday.
Ailz's mother and father had been threatening to go to the AGM of their old people's club this morning. We hoped they wouldn't- and her mother has just rung to say they haven't. Her father is better than he was, but we weren't keen on him driving into Ashton, then walking across the town centre. We'd lent them Ailz's wheelchair with caveats about how heavy and unwieldy it is. In the event neither of them could lift it. We had also offered to drive them- an offer I'm glad they turned down- seeing how ropey we both feel.
