By Request

Odi rings to ask me for the words of one of the songs I've been singing Fabi because he's been asking for it. She writes them down at my dictation and then I get her to sing the whole thing back to me.

Row, row row your boat
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily;
Life is but a dream.

A sweet childhood song with a hell of a lot of meaning packed in behind it.

London Bridge is another song with background meaning.

It's another favourite of mine. I believe we have a duty to pass these songs on down the generations.

My daughter's favorite traditional song that I would sing to her was "Yellow Submarine". :-)

:) That's in my repertoire too.

I'm always fascinated of what the REAL story is behind these so-called children songs.

Do as the song says and you can't go wrong.
