Reviewing Eliot

Prufrock is possibly Eliot's best poem. It doesn't put a foot wrong.

The Waste Land is his most important work, but structurally messy. 

The Hollow Men and Ash Wednesday are (comparatively) minor.

The Four Quartets are wonderful in parts, strained in others. The note of religious affirmation is forced.

You don't mention the Practical Cats... LOL

I like the Journey of the Magi. At least you know what he is on about there.

I think the Practical Cats are fun- but overrated- not nearly as good as Edward Lear.

Cats like the sound of the human voice. Every time in my life that I have adopted a cat, be he or she kitten or "senior citizen" cat, I have acclimatized them to my home by reading to them from "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats." Usually within two or three days I have a lapful of purring cat to keep me company as I read aloud. I also recite "The Owl and the Pussycat" to them.
