Nearly The New Year

It's two hours before midnight and the fireworks are already going off. I went outside to put rubbish in Rene's bin- which I've co-opted because ours is already full- and they were launching cheap rockets from a house down the road- and a couple of young men were stood in a front yard a little nearer to me having one of those loud conversations in Urdu that sounds like an argument but isn't really.

The last day of 2010 has been dull and damp and misty.

One's just gone off here too - just after 10 p.m. - the cat was terrified. I thin k that it was someone fooling around, because it was only one, and very close by
