The kitchen radiator will have to come out again because it's too big and won't fit under the new worktop. The plumber suggested cutting a section out of the worktop to accomodate it, but Peter- who has the last word- has said no. i guess it's not a big job to switch one radiator for another.

The work was originally scheduled to finish at the end of this week. That's not going to happen.

The same three guys are working in the kitchen. They've been here an hour. Now they're taking a break. They take a lot of breaks. If I were one of  them I'd take a lot of breaks too.

Cutting a section out of the worktop! No way! I really hope this is over soon. You are being very Zen.

I try to be Zen. I think it's a good way of dealing with life. If you can't change things, just go with the flow.

Good God.

You realize this progression leads inexorably toward discovering that you need a new house in which to fit all the new furnishings, fittings, fixed stuff . . .

A 15th century manor house would be nice...
