Getting Back To Normal- Sort Of

I was up a ladder before breakfast this morning, taking down the blinds at our bedroom windows. They won't go back up again because the new window frames are pvc and won't take screws. I don't know what we'll use for black-out tonight. 

It's nice to be able to access the yard without having to go out the front and round by the alleys to let oneself in at the back gate. This morning I put seed out for the birds for the first time in a fortnight.

I've seen the robin hopping around. There was a programme on garden birds the other week that told me the robin is short-lived. I suppose this means I'm seeing not the same robin year after year but members of a dynasty of robins. 

It's another clear, cold day. The workmen won't get wet.

It's been very cold- but the windows are now all in place.
