The Electricians: Day 10
Nov. 13th, 2010 08:15 pmKhalid lives in Nelson. He says he was worried about coming to work in Oldham because Oldham has a reputation for being so racist. While he was working in the hallway the big plaster ceiling rose came away in his hand. It is so heavy and the means of fastening are so feeble we've decided not to put it back- even though it is authentically Edwardian.
Odi dropped by in the afternoon and we helped her draft an application letter for university. She had Christa with her. We told her not to bring Fabi because the house is all splinters and trailing wires and power tools left lying around. I got to read the judge's report on the appeal. Basically he went through it point by point going, "I don't believe this, I don't believe this, I don't believe this."
We still don't have lights downstairs, but we nearly do. Khalid says he may come in again tomorrow.
