The Electricians: Day 7

Today was the day it got a little fraught. The electricians are way behind schedule andMohammed (Mr Yousaf, but now we're on first name terms) was cross- firstly with them and then (smilingly) with us for having such an inconvenient house. My role is to be patient and soak up as much of the bad feeling as I can.

We've been enjoying Professor Elemental's videos. We've also been enjoying the videos of Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer whom the Professor accuses of stealing his act- but where would the arts be without theft? Besides they're very different. The Professor is surreal and owes an acknowledged debt to Viv Stanshall and Mr B is a parodist who plays a mean banjolele.

Mr. B has played at our cabaret a couple of times, and is a lovely bloke to work with.

His 'History of Dance' montage is hilarious.

I really like his world cup song.

I have never seen a project like this that was not behind. A surprising number of contractors haven't the foggiest idea of how to estimate a job, especially when it comes to time. Something always turns up to delay things and they never seem to remember that.

We had a further setback today. We've got one guy off with flu and another with asthma.
