I enjoyed reading this. I've never liked Cruise, although I have to acknowledge his charisma. Maybe it is because I am old enough to remember Risky Business, which turned me off, but I've always thought of him as a manipulative operator. When I have enjoyed his performances (Rainman, A Few Good Men, Eyes Wide Shut) it's always been somewhat against my will.
