White Weather
We took the Christmas tree down yesterday afternoon. Odi was supposed to be coming to help us, but she's not going to be wanting to heave a push chair through all this snow. The cardboard box in which we've kept the decorations for years had had its corners nibbled away by rabbits, so we binned it and replaced it with a plastic one.
The temperature must have dropped well below freezing last night. The pipes in the kitchen are frozen (again) and there are icicles along the eaves.
I know we're well into a new decade, but I don't feel it yet. This white weather makes everything a little unreal- a little dreamlike- as if time itself had been frozen.

Yes. The unreality of it, plus the difficulty of going out in it. I feel cocooned.

Yes, another nod to this. I was supposed to be working from home most of this week anyway, so theoretically nothing has changed. But despite that, I am finding it very difficult to concentrate, because it is hard to believe that real life will ever re-start again - and if that's the case, what's the point in marking all these essays?

I'm sort of hoping for remaindered Christmas pudding.

Just watch out for angry mobs threatening to chop your head off on the way home, then! :-)

We're going to get hit with the cold wave today and already the temperatures are plummeting. We may even have one of the unusual frosts we get occasionally in Seville. I'll have to cover up some especially frost sensitive plants tonight.
Even with no snow all this rain has felt like suspended animation here as well.
