Courtesy Of The Council

We woke yesterday morning to the first frost of the season- a white bloom across the skin of houses and cars. It didn't last long.

And then the doorbell rang and it was a couple of guys delivering a shower chair- courtesy of the council. It's a huge thing- almost a settee. It replaces the fold-down seat we had before.

And then the doorbell went again and it was a guy come to fix up an intercom system- again courtesy of the council. If I'm out Ailz will now be able to answer the door- and even open it- from her bed.

Your Council seems to be on the ball.
Good stuff!

Ailz rang up up a woman who's running for the council and it turns out she's married to a councillor of longstanding who wants to be re-elected and- bingo!

Would you be willing to take a photo of that new shower chair and show it on LJ? I have never seen one that resembles what you described. Several people in my building could use a much better one than the one supplied by Medicare.

Yes sure. No problem.

I'm still amazed and envious of your health care system. It is so thoughtful.

This isn't the health service, but the local council looking after its disabled citizens.

Socialism runs through this society like blue mould through cheese.
