Brief Jottings

I'll get over it, but it's still something of a marvel to me that I'm cooking the recipes I am. Last night we had chicken in an avocado and orange sauce and tonight I'm fixing a potato curry.

I listened to Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony yesterday. Happy music, dignified music-  the music of urban civilisation.

I watched the clip of Michael Jackson's ghost stalking the empty rooms of Neverland Ranch.  I'm assuming- until someone swears by something holy that the room was empty- that the moving shadow was cast by a production assistant.

It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't rest quietly.

Me neither.

Which is a shame. I wouldn't wish ghosthood on anyone.

If views of ghosts are in fact evidence of demons, then perhaps these "sightings" are true after all.
However, I suspect they are simply another illusion created by Jackson's promoters.
Maybe after today's ceremonies in LA things will all quiet down again. Hopefully.

I don't think ghosts are demons. I think they're human souls who haven't passed over. For whatever reason.

This clip comes from CNN- and seems to be part of a documentary about Neverland Ranch. I suspect a prank by the film crew.

Yeah, that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

I'm genuinely interested in the paranormal and I wish people wouldn't muddy the waters by indulging in pranks- if this is a prank.

No idea what's going - but it doesn't look (or operate) like a shadow, to be honest. I'd suspect some sort of digital hoax.

Well that's a possibility too. In which case the buck passes to CNN. I wonder if it stops there.

Looks like it to me.

The question then is whether it's a deliberate prank or an "honest" mistake.

[personal profile] oakmouse 2009-07-07 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep.

I would expect Jackson to haunt someplace, given the circumstances of his death, but you know? The film clip still looks fake.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2009-07-08 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Would CNN broadcast a clip they knew to be fake? I haven't entirely closed the door to the possibility that there's something paranormal going on here. I'd certainly like to know more about the circumstances of the filming.

In. A. Heartbeat. It's a matter of market share. News agencies have profited from pushing fake stories since newspapers were invented, and TV hasn't stopped the practice.

I think it's quite possible that there are paranormal phenomena at Wonderland. I just don't buy that film clip as a manifestation of MJ's ghost. It looks and feels wrong at a gut level. I think if it represents a paranormal phenomenon, it's what the old Western mystery schools called "tracks in space" --- a sort of astral film loop recording a past event, rather than a manifestation of a current spirit presence.

Of course, as a Brit, I don't know what sort of reputation- if any- CNN has to lose.

I take your point about it being a "track in space". It gives the impression of being something that's just passing by.
