poliphiloOur DVD player went on the blink last night, so I disconnected it and dug out the one we were given as a "free gift" for subscribing- several years back- to The Poirot Collection, removed its polythene wrappings and hooked it up. I'm sort of proud of myself: not only can I work the remote- and many men my age can't- I also know where to stick the scart.
Having set up my new DVD player, I proceeded to watch Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain- which is a terrible, terrible movie- not only pretentious but stupid.
