St Lizzie's

Talking about Reddish (as I was a couple of posts back) here's St Lizzie's as it is today.

And here's the old rectory- now used as offices by social services.

Graham and his family lived in the main part of the house- and I and my family lived in the servants' wing- which is the sticky-out bit to the right. A new rectory has since been built in the grounds- destroying the lovely, big, square lawn where my kids used to play.

bloody hell - i remember it. I remember living there, vaguely. Particularly I remember the side of it. Even before I read your commentary I remembered the side of it. I remember the boys crossing a road over to a park that they were not supposed to do and me telling them off - ever the big sis!!!! I don't remember the inside though. How old must I have been - 2/3????

We moved to Reddish around the time of you first birthday- after spending that summer in Kentucky. Joe wasn't born until just before we moved to Royton- so it must have been Mike- on his own- who was toddling off to the park across the road- hotly pursued by big sis.

The insides of the building were fairly grim. We were- after all- living in the servants quarters. Your bedroom was right at the top- up two flights of stairs.
