Being Drawn In

My old boss, Graham Marshall, (I was his curate at St Elisabeth's, Reddish) was today's visiting priest. He was extremely surprised to see us there. And we were surprised to see him.

Graham is the one person from that former life I've kept in touch with. We used to bump into him in Asda. He's a sweet man.

There was no-one handing out hymnbooks and service papers when we arrived, so Ailz volunteered us.

And at the close of the service we brought home a tray of tea-light holders to wash. The tea lights- dozens of them- had been burning in the window embrasures in honour of it being Candlemas.

We are being drawn in. We are learning people's names. The churchwarden is called Linda. Baby Fabrizio's mother is called Udet. I think we've crossed a line. Before today it would have been possible to retire in reasonably good order. Not so now.

Thank you, Bridget, Brid, Bride, Brede, Brigid, Brigantia.

Watch out - you'll be a lay reader by Easter and back in your robes handing round communion by Trinity Sunday! Be careful or the C of E will rehabilitate you, they have precious few intelligent life forms capable of leading anything, they will make use of you if they can.

Yes, I think it very likely.

I have always had a weakness for lost causes....:)

Perhaps this is all a good thing for you two?

It might be.

It's certainly interesting...

Errrr..... Graham Marshall. WTF. I was thinking about him the other day - for no apprent reason. He is the one who has a son and his son baby sat me right? That is too freakin weird. I have NEVER thought about him, but I was - when I was in the bath of all place - just a few days ago. I was thinking about when we went to his house once and I was wondering if you still in contact with him.

Everything I think at the moment seems to then be reflected in real life. It is nuts x

PS - I know this is not time for shameless self pluggin but you can preorder my book now at Amazon- i just put it into Amazon fuly expecting nothing and it came up!!1 AMazon UK, USA, and Canada - that I know of! xxxx

Synchronicity rocks.

Yes it's same Graham Marshall. He's put on weight and he wears a beard, but otherwise he's the same guy- a little more mellow than he used to be, but his sermons still ramble about all over the place.

And now I'll have to go look you up on Amazon.

This is...
