The scanner had been sitting on a shelf in the rabbit room gathering fluff for a couple of years.  Yesterday, as a reward for moving all that furniture, we got it up and running.

So I carried the big box of photos downstairs and got to work.

And while I scanned I listened to Johnny Cash.

How many pictures of people sitting on settees does one person need?

These- not a settee in sight-  were taken in Southport in 1991.

The everybody lined up on the sofa picture pose...

Are those your kids as kids?
Ailz looks lovely. I love the wind-blown hair.

I really love looking at old family photos like this ... terribly evocative things.

They are. I've gone a little mad today with the old photos and the scanner.

All of your old family photos are fine! Not your usual canned poses and "smile for the birdie" pix. Seeing all of these I feel as if I know you better yet. From the looks of the very old photos of your parents, grandparents, etc., it is obvious that you inherited your photographic talent. "Runs in the family", as they say?

Thanks.

I have hundreds of "sit up and beg" photos, but I'm trying to navigate around them.

My sister is a talented photographer. She's had pictures in exhibitions.

Wow I look so cool in my luminous dungarees - If nothing else I give Agnes Deyn a run for her money with those shades. xx

This was a set of photos that sat in the camera for about ten years before we got round to having them developed.

That's a wicked stare you're giving the lens.
