And After That

We circled back to Kinross along the coastal road.

One of the Scottish Kings- it might have been James II or James VI (websites differ, so maybe it was just someone at the Tourist  Board) described the coast of Fife as "a  fringe of gold on a beggars mantle". That says it all really. The sun was going down and we drove from village to village, trying to see as much as we could before the light gave out.

All I can say is OH! The LIGHT!
It's absolutely perfect in the first and second photos especially.

St Monans is quite the solid looking structure, isn't it? Do you have a date for when it was built?

The light was a godsend.

There's been a church at St Monan's since 875. The present building dates from c. 1350.

Right, that's it, definitely the Fife Coastal Path next holiday. I wonder how much of it we can do at sunset?

That golden afternoon light seems to hang around for a long time in late October.

I would love to take my watercolours to Anstruther - that's exactly the kind of thing I love to paint. Sigh.

Sea, sky, reflections... Yes, I know what you mean.

What gorgeous evening light!

Usually you have to be quite cunning to make the most of the light you're given, but with light like this you just point the camera and click.
