A Neighbourly Day In The Neighbourhood
Jul. 27th, 2008 09:46 amThe child next door was offered a choice of babysitters. She could have us- her left-hand neighbours- or a cool teenage girl- one of her right-hand neighbours- and she chose us! That's my idea of social success. If the queen herself had offered me a knighthood I couldn't have been more proud.
Apparently we let her do whatever she wants.
This is getting to be a friendly neighbourhood. I go out front to cut the hedge and I get into conversation after conversation. Or maybe it's just me that's friendlier than I used to be.
