Writing Fiction
It looks like I might be writing fiction again. I'm not sure whether I like the feeling or not. I've set up a situation and written a couple of pages and now it's like the characters are hustling me to get on with it. I know what the story might be, but not what it will be, because these people are alive and will certainly do all sorts of things I can't anticipate. They might even walk out on me and leave me looking stupid.

(I thought about you yesterday, when Kate came by to pick me up to celebrate her finishing up her novel Stag in Velvet, last of a trilogy. She said she loves to write, loves the characters, and I told her about Purchas, which she may read, as the entire premise fascinated her.)
