I had a dream last night that might just incorporate a past life experience.

I was with a catholic recusant family. I wasn't aware of any details that would date the experience- though I presume we were in the 16th or early 17th century- nor was it clear how I stood with the family: I could have been one of them or merely a friendly observer. One of the sons was about to journey to Rome to train as a priest, accompanied by an older man who I took to be a  steward or trusted upper servant. This older man may also have been going to train as a priest. There was an atmosphere of heaviness and secrecy.

So was I once an English catholic priest- charged with restoring the old faith- an agent of the counter-Reformation?  It would fit.

I'm curious as to where there is something specifically about priesthood that relates to your 'deeper' identity.

All I know is that this priestly thing has been hanging about me for most of my life. I've tried to shake it off, but it keeps coming back. It seems to inform the way I relate to other people.

I am someone who very much likes to be alone.

It might, of course, be nothing but wishful thinking. Reincarnation and past lives have been on my mind a lot recently.

I rarely pay attention to dreams but you know, this one really fits you and is rather eerie if you think about it.

How intriguing!

I went through a spate of having dreams set in Victorian times but I haven't for a few years, it's been rather dull without them.

I've been having quite a lot of "heavy" dreams recently. Most of them I've forgetten. I should probably be paying more attention.

This dream wasn't datable by the costumes or anything- only by the situation. I'd like to return to it and see if I can find out more.

Did your Victorian dreams make sense? Did they seem like memories of a real life?

I suspect they were more influence by novels. They seemed quite story like in parts.

I have had deja vu quite vividly a number of times though. I don't believe in reincarnation but I'm sure I have caught wiffs of someone who was there before me.

I like the idea that you can dream of your previous selves. I have certainly had dreams where I was myself but not this self in other times. I was so happy to see my friends and relatives again, and so sad that it had been so long.

I had a very vivid dream once where I was part of the crew of a medieval trading vessel. It was lovely to see those people again.
