This is supposedly King David- though the model looks female to me. (S)he and King Solomon dominate a chamber- the star chamber- filled with images of Biblical worthies.

I would never have thought that was a portrait of a biblical monarch. He/she looks rather androgynous to me...rather like my angels.

My uninstructed guess was that the two figures represented Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.
