Erm?

Nick Clegg- the new leader of the Lib Dems- has appointed the musician and all-round avant-garde weird guy Brian Eno as his "advisor on youth affairs".

Eno will be 60 next year.

Still, that's a pretty cool thing. I can't imagine (say) Lou Reed being offered such a position in the U.S.

It's a little too cool. It's an example of a middle-aged politician trying to show that he's "down with the kids" and getting it (not so) subtly wrong.

That just goes to show how on the case he is (not)!

Exactly!

When did Eno last have anything to do with youth?

And- equally to the point- how many of today's youth know (or care) anything about Eno?

And I believe he started to go bald at a very young age.

Take Eno for An Answer

Your reservations aside, I still think it sounds like a pretty good idea. I'd imagine Eno probably knows what the youth should be doing.

"I'd imagine Eno probably knows what the youth should be doing."

Like taking lots of drugs and creating experiments in sound? :)

OK, that's funny!

Recent news is that Nora fell in M & S this pm and has broken her wrist. Currently Ma and Ian are with her in Kent and Sussex hospital and she's being looked after well. However, she will need to stay with Ma tonight and they'll know more when they return to hosp tomorrow for assessment. Poor thing.
Christmas may be somewhat altered, but you are very welcome to stay here if plans have to change.
Hope you are well.
Jenny
