St. Devereux

We turned down the Kilpeck road and there on the left was a church. Thinking it had to be Kilpeck church we pulled over. Well It wasn't Kilpeck church- it belonged to a non-existent village called St. Devereux- but I got out and had a quick look round anyway. Inside (all these churches are kept unlocked and unattended- which is unheard of in the cities) I found this little chap gazing sulkily out the window.
He had a lot of brothers and sisters, as dilapidated as himself, all piled up on the window ledges. It seems the church once housed an imposing 17th c. funerary monument and it had fallen off the wall.
