We had a bit of a plumbing incident last night. Luckily we're insured and the plumber got to us quickly. There's still a big puddle at the far end of the kitchen where the water pooled.

I hate it when things break. I don't feel equipped to deal with the physical world. Metaphysics, yes; bring it on. But the world of appearances has me beat.

I woke this morning with a tension headache. Earlier I'd been dreaming they'd made me Archbishop of Canterbury.

they'd made me Archbishop of Canterbury.

God! For your sake I hope not. I'd rather deal with a wall of broken pipes than what this poor bloke has on his plate.

Yikes. I hate plumbing incidents. I hope everything dries up quickly.

I detest plumbing. I know just enough about it to create even bigger problems than the ones I set out to correct. Perhaps there have been repairs that went well, but I have no memory of them.

And on the whole, I think being made Archbishop would be a bigger headache still.

Oh, I know- isn't it awful. Personally, I think he should be challenging the African bishops over their homophobia, but I understand what a terrible fix he's in.

Thanks. I keep going into yhe kitchen to make sure the leak hasn't started up again. It's amazing how unnerving these things are.

Right now the Archbish has one of the worst jobs in the world.

And I'm afraid he's not up to it. He's a gentle, unworldly scholar and what's needed is a political and spiritual giant- someone of the stature of St Augustine or Martin Luther.

I do okay with most stuff around the house, but plumbing problems just confound me.

We´ve had a few plumbing mishaps lately and I see one or two more in the making. The worst was when a pipe burst inside a wall. They had to rip out half a wall before they found the exact point where it burst. I´m glad the plumber got there quickly.

I agree with you - BUT, would you want to be known as the Archbishop who presided over the dissolution of the Anglican Church.

Yikes!

This wasn't anything like on that scale. A washer failed under the sink. Once he'd located the problem it took the man five minutes to fix it.

I think his legacy is going to be sad one whichever way things go.
