Waste Not Want Not
This morning I am wearing a shirt from the pub where Joe used to work. He had no further use for it and passed it on. It has the name of the pub embroidered over the breast and the words Greene King embroidered on the sleeve.
Because it is cold and wet I am also wearing a woolly jumper in my mother's racing colours (the cross of Lorrain in yellow on a dark green background). She had no further use for it and passed it on.
I look like an elderly jockey. And if I take off a layer I look like an elderly barman.
It amuses me.
OK, I probably wouldn't wear these things on the street, but why throw them out when they're still perfectly serviceable?
I don't like getting rid of stuff. If I didn't have Ailz to keep me in order this house would be piled floor to ceiling with things that "might come in useful one of these days".

Checks and balances...I exercise the same sort of effect on Manolo´s hoarding tendencies.

I'm not a great one for buying things- except for DVDs (which don't take up much room)- but once an object falls into my clutches you're gonna have difficulty prying my fingers loose.
