Trundle

We're rearranging our finances. We've remortgaged our house and we're paying off our credit cards and we're getting a new car though Motability. Ailz is the one who understands these things. I have always been afraid of money.

The way I see it in my head is the wagon has got one of its wheels stuck in a puddle. A deep puddle- a pre-macadam puddle- a Jane Austen era puddle. And the farm hands have come out of the fields in their smocks and they push and they push and the driver whips up the carthorse and one bloody big heave and we're on our way again. Trundle, trundle, trundle....

Phew!

Constable might have painted this- or Stubbs.

But the road isn't going to get any less bloody awful.

I just wanted to tell you that I have really enjoyed your photos in recent posts. You sure have a photographer's eye. They are beautiful!

Hurray for paying off credit cards and getting on top of finances...

Yes indeed!

Good for Ailz!
I love the visual image you use for all of this.

I'd be all adrift without her.

She just loves juggling money.

Good news!

And a new car will be fun for you both--no more rentals for trips.

I have a new car, and it smells so good! (My salesman, when I mentioned the new-car fragrance, said, "Alas, I can't ever enjoy that again. In fact, I don't even notice anymore..."

The best thing about a Motability car is that we don't have to worry about repairs or insurance or any of that. We pay a regular monthly rental and that's that.

What we call leasing...excellent. I would do it, except that I drive too much, making it too expensive for me (our town is far from big cities where I shop).
