I am reminded of the time I went to Hever Castle, nearly 40 years ago (12 July 1967). I wrote in my journal:
I took a group of school kids to Lullingstone to see the Roman villa, and then to Hever Castle, which was a fantastic place, with lovely gardens. It was a two-bus job, and the other driver was a London Transport bloke working his rest day, and we looked at the girls in the gardens as there were a lot of French girls there in a party, and then went and had a pint at the local pub.
Thanks for reviving old memories. I had a vac job with Cliff's Saloon Coaches, Eltham. Paid 2 quid a day.
