Back To University

Ailz is back at  University- restarting the course that was interrupted last Christmas by her gall bladder.

I go with her (as her carer). Today's tutorial was on Mozart's Don Giovanni. We have the same tutor as before- Dr Haughan- pronounced Haffan (It's a Cumbrian name)

Afterwards we had a meal on Manchester's Curry Mile.  The Sanam Sweet Centre is where we went on our first date- 15 years ago.

Thanks for the pronunciation. I always appreciate it so much when someone else, besides me, finds it important to preserve and inform on things linguistic.

I was calling him "Horn"- which is how it would be pronouced if he came from any other corner of the UK.

It's one of the city's wonders- a long stretch of highway, just past the university, almost entirely colonised by Asian businesses.

This is actually a different curry restaurant- on the other side of town. Manchester is the curry capital of the western world.
