A Correction

I said my cousin died 20 years ago.

My sister demurred, so I did some research and find it was only 6. I was out by 14 years. Sheesh!

I have a mental image of her funeral. At the time of writing yesterday's post I truly believed I was there. But I wasn't.

In the past when I've come across cases of people mis-remembering things I've always assumed they had an agenda and were deliberately lying. Either that or they were cracked.

I shall be more charitable in future.

Either that, or it's you that's cracked, did you think about that?

I did.

It would explain a lot...

I find I'm using it more frequently myself to explain away some of my little foibles.

People have been telling me recently that I'm eccentric. I take it as a compliment.

Tell them it's a great British tradition. Nobody does eccentrics as well as the British.

I guess I'm actually fulfilling an ambition.

Do nothing else today until you have found a copy of The Motion of Light on Water. Besides being breathtaking, it talks incessantly about this very thing.

(Samuel R. Delany, btw) Don't mean to be adamant, it's just that he talks about precisely what you are taling about wrt the death of his father.

Delany's new to me. He sounds really interesting. Maybe I'll make him my project for this autumn.

Try Dhalgren. Mwa ha ha.

I just ordered a copy from Amazon.

Motion of Light will have to wait until I can locate a copy that costs less than £50....

Brilliant.

Thanks.

Oh, I hate it when that happens!
Every day a lesson, though!

The unreliability of memory.

A good thing to know about.

LOL!
