Milice

 Odd how words come through in dreams that you have no reason to use in waking life. "Milice" for instance. I had to look it up to check whether it meant what I thought it did. 

And it did.

Milice is the French word for militia- and more specifically for the paramilitary group set up in Vichy France to fight the Resistance. They did bad things and- after the Liberation- had bad things done to them. In Louis Malle's film Lacombe Lucien a not very nice, really rather stupid young man joins the Milice because the Resistance won't have him. All he wants is to belong to a gang- and once he does he enjoys the power it gives him. I don't suppose he is untypical....

I take heart from the observation that in my dream the Milice HQ is a ruin....

think that's why people join maga.
they want to be able to do bad things to people and are happy to make anyone a target.

not enough climate tragedies.

they run on the premise that resources are finite and the reason they don't have everything is they have to share. they think then they can keep more?
truth is they are lazy and won't work for it and would rather steal from those who do.

sigh really wish they'd focus
on teaching children playing is important in games not winning.that implys not everyone can be winners. and it carries out intolife.

they need more emphasis on music where
everyone cooperated to make a whole concerto. instead they've shrunk the music program and focused the money on sports. the big carrot is the professional teams wage.
think more kids enup with brain damage than end up in the big leagues.

One difference is that MAGA is a mass movement whereas the Milice will never have had that many members- and those who joined risked being alienated from their friends and neighbours.....

Otherwise, people like belonging to a gang
