Sensing Murder

This is just about my favourite show at the moment.  They pick a couple of psychics and set 'em the task of solving cold case murders. It runs an hour and twenty minutes- which means they don't cut corners- and the results are amazing. Last night's show closed with a suit telling us that, as a result of the leads provided by the psychics, the 30 year old abduction-rape-murderof two young nurses was about to be solved.

It's Australian- which  adds a whiff of eucalyptus to the proceedings. Australia, on this showing, looks a lot like the American South, only the air is drier and the trees are thinner.

Why can't I see dead people?

Because you don't live in South Philly.

P.S. I remember when they filmed Sixth Sense on your street--we were all so thrilled for you; I still look for exactly the right spot in the bicycle-ghost scene!

If I thought it might help, I'd make the move.

Actually, I have lived in South Philly- if only for three months- and not a single walking stiff ever crossed my path.

In 1976 (while I was still at theological college)I took a job providing holiday relief for the rector of a South Philadelphia parish.

They should send this bunch over to analyze JonBenet Ramsey's house. Surely the vibes there would provoke even the least psychic of us!

(I am reading Ruth Rendell nonstop and I can't shake her style out of my head!)

I'm surprised they haven't already used psychics on the JonBenet Ramsey case.

But perhaps they have and the results are being kept from us.

It's a conspiracy...

They did, actually - the psychic who had offered some help died not too long ago, I believe.

You know, I remember seeing some news bits about her when the whole thing hit the fan again, including a drawing she made. They showed the drawing and compared it to Karr and some people said it looked very similar.

One thing I absolutely do remember is that she always insisted the parents were innocent, and that there was indeed an intruder.
