Rabbit News

The small rabbit has finally got the hang of the stairs. He runs up them like they're a green hillside and comes lolloping into our room with the dawn.

Can it balance anything on its head?

A breakfast tray would be good....

Haha! I guess it will be new paint for you two. Is the rabbit replacing the mouse?

The mouse was here before the rabbit. Or the mice I should say. I came across another one last week. I suspect we have a colony.

Aw, teh bless!

How is the big rabbit settling in now?

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
She's settled in- and loves the new freedom (she spent most of her life in a tiny cage) but she's still shy of humans.

Even without seeing this with my eyes...

It's awesome to see. He runs up the stairs like its something rabbits have always done.

He runs up them like they're a green hillside

The question is, can he get back down them again? Down is often harder than up! Especially for creatures whose back legs are longer than their front ones. *g*

One one occasion he get spooked and rushed down and hit the hallway floor in a flurry and slid but mainly he seems to manage alright.

"lolloping"!

What a great word!

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds just like it looks. It's one of those words that are exactly right!

That little rascal! I love him from a distance.

How is the big one? Is she less shy now?

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
She's still frightened of us and doesn't want any close contact, but she comes and sniffs at us if we go into her space and stay still.

I saw a video of this rabbit on the news tonight and I immediately thought of your bunny horde (do two rabbits constitute a horde?)

I've seen one of those giant rabbits- not as big as Hermann probably but still pretty surreal.
