Spring Is Not All Sunshine And Zephyr's

Monday was so warm I hung washing out to dry and sat on the patio for more than a token amount of time reading what else but As You Like It. Yesterday it rained, Today it's raining some more,

"I thought we were in for several days of Spring weather," I said to Ailz-  and she said, "This is Spring weather."

Yes, of course it is. I forget how every year I worry the daffodils have come out to soon and will  be  laid flat or have their stalks snapped by the wind and the rain and how they always prove resilient. They're made for this weather, made for dancing  They can take it....

Ailz and I were talking earlier about St John's Werneth- a church from the 1840s that Oldham Council demolished last year. It was a run-of-the-mill building of that era- unlisted- nothing special- but even so it's a shame. Looking online I found a video shot shortly before the bulldozers moved in by local historian Sarah of Sarah's UK Graveyard.  I watched a couple more of her videos afterwards because, though I don't miss the north west- and I really don't- I find I have reserves of affection for it. I hear a Lancashire accent and my heart lifts.

It's like me and the Staffs/Black Country accent- that's where my deepest roots are so it's nice to now live close to it
