So Cool (Not)

I'm due to give my little talk on Simplicity today. I wish I could stand up without papers in hand and pluck it out of the air  but I don't have the confidence to work from anything but a full script. There'll be a "shared lunch" afterwards and once I've written this brief post I need to go put some part-baked bread in the oven for us to take with us as part of our contribution.

Mike and Sej are in the next room killing time before breakfast. There's a school bus thing Sej has with buttons on it and you press the buttons and it blurts out propaganda. For instance (to the tune of Row, Row Row the Boat)

 Ride, ride, ride the bus
 Merrily to school.
 Merrily, merrily, merrily
Learning is so cool.

I'll be glad when he grows out of it...

When I was a kid and rode the school bus "merrily" it was because we had inadequate supervision and the kids climbed over the seats from one seat to another.

My sister wouldn't let me do it on the grounds that I wasn't old enough, and by the time she'd aged out of that school the supervision was better and none of us could get away with it anymore.

Also, on the school bus they're not allowed to kick you off.
