Cheese

 There was a time when I took to eating cheese for breakfast (like a Dutchman) because I thought it gave me energy. 

And because I'm a generous soul I used to break bits off and give them to the cat.

I stopped when I became a vegan but the cat didn't become a vegan and continues to demand his cheese,

And we, like fools, continue to buy it for him.

Not any old cheese, mind you, because he has refined tastes, but the finest matured cheddar....

Cheese is the main reason I'm veggie not vegan.

I have been known to cheat where cheese is concerned. I don't eat it at home but if I'm out and someone waves a ripe stilton under my nose or a fabulous cheese sauce I've sometimes succumbed

Where we live in blue cheese central- they make two kinds here- Shropshire blue and Wrekin blue and I'm not about to refuse those!

Like Ben Gunn I occasionally have a yearning for toasted cheese.
